When Rudolph Stewart approached Slightly Curved Cube earlier this year, he was adamant that he wanted to look a cut above the rest. Bold, contemporary but not too much of a ‘glass’ and minimalistic approach. The user must be able to navigate without thinking (almost at best) and have a pleasurable experience while doing so.

Rudolph’s background is finance and accounting and he decided to start a firm to recruit for roles he has performed or managed. His  target market will be private companies in Greater London that hire finance staff using external agencies. In the current employment market, it is harder than usual to find the right candidate. He wanted to establish a new consultancy and brand that would appeal to companies and candidates looking for a fresh, honest approach to 21st century recruitment.  The focus will be on mid-level to senior professional candidates.

When Shakira (a Personal Training Instructor based in Central London) told us that in March this year she will qualify to be a Personal Training Instructor and would like to start a part time personal training business in which I go to either client’s homes, their local gyms or train with them outside in the park, we got to work straight away.

She will specialise in pre – post natal exercises, running, pilates, ballet, core work and helping people lose weight or get fit by developing people’s strength and cardiovascular fitness.

Her target group is to be mainly ‘yummy mummies’ who are middle class women, who have just had children, and therefore want to get fit again. So to target working women in the 20s to 50s age group, and also want to somehow include men into this concept too.

Slightly Curved Cube came up with approximately 50 names but both Shakira and SCC settled on Yoocanbe (You Can Be Fit).

We were asked to design a new logo, website and brand for SEO Impression. They provide website development and SEO services, but are not designers (that’s where  we came into the equation).

SEO Impression have asked Slightly Curved Cube to work as their design partners, so that SEO Impression can offer a comprehensive range of design services to potential clients.

Merchants Against Poverty And Sickness (MAPAS), is a charitable organisation that has an objective to empower and support deprived communities in the developing world through localised enterprise development initiatives.

MAPAS’ asked us to try and create a name for the commercial side of the charity. We came up with numerous variants, but the one MAPAS and SCC agreed on was ‘TLC’ (Tender Loving Care).

SCC are intending to go live with the e-commerce site by the end of 2010, but until then please feel free to have a look at the simulation front page.
